Genre Bending: 2024 Concerts to Fit Your Personality

What you listen to may provide psychologists with a glimpse into your personality. If you are an eclectic music lover, the summer of 2024 music season is shaping up to entice fans who enjoy variety. Psychology studies show that people who are creative may prefer rock and heavy metal, Indie music, classical, jazz, blues and soul. Introverts are drawn to rock/heavy metal, classical and Indie music. Extroverts love pop, rap/hip hop, country, dance and jazz, blues and soul. Some of us blend them all together.

She is excited to share music news. On January 19th, Saxon released their 24th studio album ’Hell, Fire and Damnation’ featuring 10 songs that use historical context to highlight the struggle between good and evil. This album has the feeling of telling a story, starting with a short song “Prophecy” and then giving us true Saxon sound. Saxon released two singles, “Hell, Fire and Damnation” and "There's Something in Roswell.” Veronica’s favorite on the album though is song number eight, “1066.” In support of their new album Saxon will soon embark on a massive US Tour with Uriah Heep beginning April 23rd in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

While Veronica has long been a Jazz music fan, your Heavy Metal Hippie is working on a growing list of jazz favorites from being a regular at the weekly Monday Night Jazz Jam at Kukuau Studio in Hilo, Hawai’i. Each tune will have a different sound depending on the group of musicians who show up to play on any given Monday. One festival appeals to both of us.

In April, the New Orleans Fairgrounds hosts The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Organizers have announced a massive 2024 line-up with headliners the Rolling Stones leading the pack.
