Big Island Metal Bash Night 1

The air was electric last night in Hilo at the Big Island Metal Bash, as metalheads converged on the Hilo Town Market for Night one of the Big Island Metal Bash.  With Night Two just hours away this review is going to be shorter than normal.

The crowd showed up en masse for last night’s brutal affair. With some minor tweaks to the evening’s lineup, Big Island bands Mataleo and Bad Ass Noise joined the bill with Weight of Sin, Truculence and headliner Internal Bleeding.  Each band brought their own unique styling of heavy metal. The music was fast and furious, growls were deep, and the pit was swirling with many distinctive styles being represented from Hard Core to Old School mixing it up throughout the evening.

Truculence bought their brand of humor with numerous song titles that my editor will probably not let me use, but damn they played hard and fast, with twisted lyrics and a hate of Portland, Oregon. They are worth checking out.  The night truly belonged to New York legends Internal Bleeding. I was in the pit for the entire set and my memory is still a bit fuzzy.  The crowd ate up every song, in the pit, or as they headbanged. Singer Steve Worley’s deep growls and Kyle Eddy’s rapid drums  left the fans in attendance in a hot sweaty mess.

Night 2 of the Big Island Metal Bash is tonight with Green Jelly headlining. Mosh Play Live can’t wait.  We’ll have more pics and videos after tonight’s show.  If you didn’t make it out last night, don’t miss out, tickets available at the door.  Get out and support live music!

Peace Love & Mosh Pits
